The Brent Refinery is located in Kyrgyzstan, a strategic area that offers easy access to the main transport routes in Kyrgyzstan. With a processing capacity of 2 Million tons of crude oil per year, the refinery is one of the most important hydrocarbon production points in the country. The refinery infrastructure is designed to meet international quality standards, focusing on safe and efficient processing of crude oil. Our automated processes and advanced technology allow us to offer consistent and highest quality products.

Production process

The production process at Brent Refinery includes:
Straight run distillation: A process that ensures the extraction of petroleum and other distillation products from crude oil, guaranteeing high quality and consistency; Laboratory control: Each product undergoes detailed laboratory analysis to ensure compliance with required international standards. Use of modern technology: Our processes are supported by high-tech equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal impact on the environment.

THE THERMAL COGENERATION PLANT

The completion of the direct connection to the Thermal Cogeneration Plant was decisive for increasing the company’s energy efficiency level and it is an important milestone in terms of reducing the environmental impact.

Today the cogeneration plant guarantees a large part of the refinery’s electricity needs and supplies sustainable electricity, because it is produced from natural gas, a fuel with a low environmental impact.

CERTIFICATIONS

To more effectively manage all aspects relating to safety, health, the environment, energy and quality, the Brent Refinery has collected and formalized the related procedures and requirements in an Integrated Management System (IMS).

ENVIRONMENT – ISO 14001:2015

It manages the direct and indirect environmental aspects deriving from refining, product handling and energy production activities

ENERGY – ISO 50001:2018

It supervises all the activities and operations carried out that have or may have an effect on the energy performance of the refinery.

HEALTH AND SAFETY – ISO 45001:2018

It intends to prevent any harmful event against the direct and indirect workers who operate within the refinery.

HAZARDS OF MAJOR ACCIDENTS – UNI 10617:2019

It is developed in order to prevent major accidents connected to certain dangerous substances and to limit the consequences for human health and the environment.

QUALITY – ISO 9001:2015

It includes activities for the production, handling and storage of propylene, the highest value-added stream among those produced.
The Refinery Quality Management System also includes the activities carried out by the Laboratory to:

demonstrate its ability to regularly provide products and/or services that meet the expectations (expressed and implied) of customers and the requirements of the laws applicable to its activities
increase customer satisfaction through the effective application of a system of processes aimed at ensuring the continuous improvement of company performance
control the analyses conducted on raw materials, on fuels for internal use and on discharge into the sea.

LABORATORY ANALYSIS

The Chemical Laboratory is ISO 9001:2015 certified for the analysis of raw materials, fuels, internal consumption and discharge into the sea and, in relation to specific analysis (Emission Trading Process and control of discharge into the sea)
Since September 2011 under code 00871 for testing refinery oil and fuel gases as listed on the ACCREDIA website.
ACCREDIA is the Single National Body competent to grant or revoke Accreditation, at national level, of Testing Laboratories. ACCREDIA grants Accreditation to a Laboratory when it has ascertained its technical and management competence in accordance with the standard required.
Accreditation is the formal recognition of the Laboratory’s eligibility to determine the characteristics of a product and/or material based on specific procedure
